Coach's Note July 29, 2009

Hi Wolves!

First, I am pleased to welcome T******to the Wolves. She showed some good defensive skills in tryouts and we are happy to have her on board. As we move to the bigger field in a year, we’ll need to be looking for a couple more girls as well!

Second, Chris is back in town and is looking forward to coaching the girls again!! Chris and our other trainers will also be available at times for private training lessons for a cost to those girls that are looking for it. It will not impact their playing time or their ability to ask questions of the trainers and get pointers at any time. It simply gives the girls more time with the professional trainer.

Third, our camp is currently set to take place on the week of the 17th in the evening (hopefully). Please sign up for the camp on line. Please also plan on having a couple of practices with me on the week of the 10th. As we are coming back on the 9th from vacation. I would like to have practice on the 11th and 13th (Tuesday/Thursday) in the evening. Wolves web page. I want the girls to see themselves as athletes for the rest of their lives and see the importance of keeping in shape. The program will be designed to that purpose. I want the parents to loosely monitor their child and encourage it as a healthy lifestyle approach.

Please get the girls "active" prior to the 11th. Running, biking, swimming, jumping on a trampoline, kicking a ball and likewise are good activities. Additionally, I would like the girls to be able to consistently juggle a ball at least 5 times on their foot, thigh or other parts of their bodies before regular practices start.

We will be initiating a conditioning reward program that I will put on our

Finally, as the girls enter into the junior high level, it is important for us to remember that these young girls are becoming young women. As such, we are going to install some standards for the team that I have for my other teams. I call it: RAISE the T. It follows:

R=Respect (yourself, teammate, parent, coach, and referee)
A=Accountability/Responsibility
I=Integrity/honesty (to yourself and others)
S=Sportsmanship
E=Example—lead by example; hard work; servant leadership
T=Teamwork-support-on and off the field

The girls will be asked to memorize each and then live up to those standards. I assume all the parents support this concept, but feel free toask any questions or enter into a discussion with me on any of this.

I hope all of you are enjoying your summers!!!

Sincerely, Greg
